Database

Through my quest to find the best scholarly database for this assignment, I came across three good scholarly sources and upon conducting sample searches, I was able to narrow down the best search database.  The three databases which I chose after reading the given description of each were the Literature Resource Center, MLA International Bibliography and Academic Search Premier.  I have used Academic Search Premier before and it is very helpful.  It provides the options of a refined search including full text and peer-reviewed journals.  This was great help when I was conducting those sample searches, providing great sources.  I also loved the way that MLA International Biliograpy and the Literature Resource Center's searches were led.  Both databases provided great search refining criteria, but what I liked best about the two was the tabs that each of the databases had, which allowed to choose results that were "Peer-Reviewed Journals" in MLA International Bibliography and "Literature Criticism" on the Literature Resource Center.  All three of these databases are quite easy to use and have relevant material in regard to our final paper and topics that can be discussed.

There had to be only one database which we were to choose and I feel like the best database out of the three was the Literaure Resource Center, due to its ease of use, great accessibility and relevant results. The Literature Resource Center has some of the best search criteria of all the literature databases.  The ways in which you can refine your search are great.  When I conducted sample searches, such as using the keyword "apocalypse" and refining my search to "Literature Criticism" and "Topic & Work Overviews", I was able to access a vast amount of results, but the great thing was they were sectioned into those two categories.  I feel that the Literature Resource Center is the best scholarly database to use for this final English 102 paper.
